Data Storage and Cloud Sync
Automatic iCloud Sync
When iCloud is enabled for the app, the following data automatically syncs across your Apple devices:
– Favorite Stations: Tide, weather, current, and buoy stations you’ve favorited
– Navigation Unit Favorites: Maritime navigation units you’ve marked as favorites
– Photos: Photos taken through the app
– App Preferences: Your settings and customizations
– Device Sync Metadata: Device identifiers used to maintain data consistency
Local Storage Only
– Route Data: GPS routes and waypoints remain stored locally on your device
– Downloaded Public Routes: Maritime routes downloaded from our public database
Controlling Sync
– You can disable iCloud sync through your device’s iCloud settings
– When iCloud sync is disabled, all data remains local to your device only
– All cloud sync occurs through Apple’s secure CloudKit infrastructure
